Bicycle Shops or Bicycle Accessories Outlets or Cycle Repairers

Really friendly staff in here, informative and helpful. Keep it up guys!

The staff here are FANTASTIC and quality of service I had was superb and very fast. Will be making this my go-to bike place.

Cycle Surgery

Runners Need inside Cotswold Outdoor 60-, 62 Northumberland St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7DF, UK – 0191 221 2709

We are bicycle touring for eight weeks in the UK and Cycle Surgery in Newcastle is definitely one of our highlights. On a moment's notice they replaced a broken spoke, replaced rim tape, and replaced brake pads. And they were kind enough to oil chains thoroughly and adjust derauleurs because they wanted to make sure our last couple of weeks "went smoothly". Great attitude by employees. If I lived in Newcastle, they would be my bike store.

Always friendly when I'm asking stupid questions about my bike. Ordered some MTB pads in store which arrived very quickly and had a nice discount. Happy customer

Start Cycles

35-37 Market St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6JE, UK – 0191 261 4191

Good stock and location but distinctly average (if that) service. Didn't even ask if I was ok after I'd obviously fallen off my bike. Was told couldn't get bike tyre and inner tube replaced for at least a week. New seat posted fitted incorrectly which could have proved hazardous.

Cycle Hire

The Cycle Hub

Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1BU, UK – 0191 276 7250

Lovely cafe and great location, evidently set up for cyclists. However has a cafeteria with a decent array of beverages, bites and you can sit outside. Situated another further along down the Quay side from the main area. Staff were welcoming. Worth a visit.

Only had a coffee but it was good coffee! Friendly staff and good vibe. Great place to sit outside with views up the river towards the bridges. Would definitely visit again

CJ Performance Cycles

330-334 Shields Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 2UU, UK – 0191 276 0941

Bought bike, good value, great experience. Delivered in a few days fully made outside of work hours. Delivery driver took me through the bike and was friendly. Would do business again easily. Good value.

I ordered a pair of shimano cycling shoes and they posted them very promptly and and provided great service. I highly recommend this CJ Performance Cycles!!

Recyke Y' Bike

2 Hannington St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1JT, UK – 0191 265 4197

I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for a bike that I could possibly get for my 2 daughters for free; it was well worth it! We received 1 bike, all the staff were lovely and the bike seems really good, a Raleigh bike. We also donated two bikes which they were really grateful for, No toilets to use close by though, I would recommend going to Morrisons before you plan to wait in the queue, for a free bike.

Great place for more specific parts that might be hard to find otherwise and as a general collection of retro (and some newer) items. It has become more expensive in the past years, but you could say the organisation has improved too. It's not to say that it is expensive now, only that it was much cheaper a few years ago, mostly for parts. It's good to know it exists and I recommend anyone looking for a cheaper, yet a thoroughly checked and refurbished bike with that "cared for second-hand gem" character or after some parts for their commuting bikes give them a try. It's helped me out many times over the years sourcing bits for the hack bikes I've had. Most recently it turned out to be the only place in Newcastle (Byker) with dropout alignment tools for a Cho-Moly hybrid fork, so I'm well happy!
